Tweetup Planning Stage One
Last night I had the idea that I would love to go to a tweetup. As there aren’t local to me in Fife (as far as I know) I thought I should just get on with it and organize one myself.
I sent out this wonderfully eloquent message
@guydavidcross Has been pondering organizing a tweetup, anyone geeky enough to come along? #Fife #Dundee (please rt)
And I got a few replies saying that people would go, so I have decided to start planning.
The intricate planning stage will be followed by a brief implementation phase and then a drawn-out evaluation/regret session.
Things to consider:
- When to have the tweetup
- Where to have the tweetup
Point two is easy, I live almost upstairs from an excellent cafe with free wifi and awesome cakes, and there is even a car-park across the road!
When is a little more challenging, but as always there is a web 2.0 app to help. I have set up an event on Doodle. Some people at work use Doodle to plan meetings, and it seems cool.
Click here to let me know when you would be able to attend a tweeup in Cupar, Fife.
I look forward to meeting everyone!

Hi.
Just one small issue
You have mentioned the..
When…
and the
Where…..
But what is a tweetup?
Perhaps we should explore the why too!
Best wishes

http://socialhat.com/what-is-a-tweetup/ (which is linked in the original post) gives an idea of what a tweetup is…
but the main why, is answered simply with a
why not?

Sounds interesting but how do you get to Cupar from Cowdenbeath by public transport? Once had an interview in Cupar but gave up, yet I work in Edinburgh it’s easier to get to
Will try to come next time
